Success is built off of a community, not just one person. This statement is what I think of when I think about one of my friends Carys who I belive is one of the top cosplayers in the country. I first met her in 2012 at Youmacon 2012 at the GM Renaissance Center. Since then I have shot with her in just about every convention that we have both attended.
The first major I shot with her was her Homura cosplay from Madoka Magica. You shot place at Shutocon 2013 in Lansing, MI. the interesting part about this shoot was that he did it at night. Since at the time I did not have any external lighting equipment I use the buildings and my pop-up flash to like her.
Since that time Carys has participated in both of my panels on cosplay photography. At Shutocon 2014 was the first talk to shoot her Fallen Angel Floone from Disgaea. This shoot was interesting in the fact that I had the opportunity to try out new soothing techniques and I was able to play around with some of the new equipment that I just picked up.
One of the most important thing is working with any model is that there is a sense of trust and friendship among the photographer and model. This type of relationship I believe has only strengthened between Carys and myself.
It is always interesting what new cosplay that she is working on. I was very surprised to see that she was finishing up her Olivia from Fire Emblem cosplay. This is probably one of the most interesting shoots that I have had the opportunity to do.
One thing I can show is that you never know who you are going to met walking around that a convention. I just get this lucky I did and meet Carys.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
